7 BOLLYWOOD MOVIES THAT DESERVED A SEQUEL

#1 Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, 1999

HDDCS
Watching Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in the lead again would be quite spectacular, considering everything that’s happened between them ever since. But the lead pair aside, with Bhansali, you would expect phenomenal music, memorable choreography, and a tight script.

#2 Andaz Apna Apna, 1994

andaz-apna-apna
A sequel to Andaz Apna Apna has the potential to set the box office ablaze, unlike the first time around. As long as the heart of the first film is retained, a sequel to this cult comedy classic would entertain the most diverse of Indian audiences ranging from a two-year-old child to a 99-year-old elderly.

#3 Go Goa Gone, 2013

go-goa-gone-poster
Go Goa Gone was a film like none other at the time of release. It enthralled the Indian audiences with its humorous portrayal of urban life and, of course, with its introduction of zombies in Bollywoodland. A sequel would introduce more zombie slaying and more bold and urban comedy, and most city-bred audiences would be up for that any time of the day.

#4 Queen, 2014

Kangana Ranaut’s performance in Queen was one of the highlights of that year in Bollywood. The film also won massive critical acclaim for its warm and uplifting quality. If a sequel were to be released, the film’s box office success would easily surpass its predecessor’s.

#5 Yuva, 2004

Yuva_(movie_poster)
Yuva was a powerful movie that accurately captured what the youth felt about the Indian society and politics at the time. Although 11 years have gone by since its release, a sequel would even to this day find itself extremely relevant.

#6 Dil Chahta Hai, 2001

Dil-Chahta-Hai-poster
Dil Chahta Hai was a pioneering film for the urban film genre in India. It dared to be different with its straightforward and bold portrayal of urban life, without being too smart about it. Fourteen years later, how would Dil Chahta Hai look and sound? Only a sequel could tell us, and we’d only be excited for it.

#7 Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara, 2011

Zindaginamilegidobara
Another defining urban film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara was well received by a wide urban audience upon release. A well-made sequel to the movie that explores the mature ideas of letting go and living in the moment would be welcome with open “alms” at the box office, and would hopefully inspire the making of more such films in Bollywood.

Box Office Predictions: Will Roy Be The Biggest Opening Of The Year So Far?

The release of Roy couldn’t have been better timed. Though the film was pushed ahead by many weeks after being originally planned to arrive last year, all seems to be well now, what with its arrival on the weekend leading to Valentine’s Day. With the film’s romantic theme working particularly well with the crowds, courtesy quite a few chartbuster tracks, the promotion has created quite a bit of buzz. Of course, with the India v/s Pakistan match on Saturday, there would be some hit in collections for sure. Still, overall a good weekend awaits this Arjun Rampal andJacqueline Fernandez film which has Ranbir Kapoor in a pivotal role.

It would be overzealous to expect that the film’s opening would be on the lines of a quintessential Ranbir Kapoor starrer since the promotion has wisely stayed away from projecting that as its selling point. Still, it would take a much better start when compared to all others films that have released this year. While it is all set to take the second best opening of the year afterBaby (which was again a T-Series production), it would be a reason to cheer indeed if the opening day collections manage to beat the Neeraj Pandey film as well.

Another release of the week is MSG – The Messenger (earlier known as MSG – The Messenger of God). After its Censor controversy, the promotion has been relatively low key, considering one would have expected quite a lot of hype and hoopla around its eventual arrival. The film may not make much of a mark at the multiplexes but at single screens and that too in the interiors of the North belt, there may be a surprise in store with some decent footfalls.

Karan Johar’s First Look In Bombay Velvet Is Out And It’s WICKED!

We had already told you that Karan Johar is playing a villain in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka
Sharma and Raveena Tandon. Obviously, when this news broke, everyone was pretty curious to know how this would turn out. And now, after the first looks of Anushka and Ranbir were released, it’s finally KJo’s turn. So, all you doubters, let us just tell you that this man might just be the most villainious villain of the year! *drumrolls*

Just look at the man, with those piercing eyes. To make matters viler, his character is named Kaizad Khambatta in the film. Seems like KJo is bending his rules for Kashyap this time around.
Who would have thought that the pioneer of romance could pull THIS off?! What do you guys think?
